Ha! The first week of our 100 day challenge is down, I still feel great and to make things are bit more hot’n spicy, I decided to up the ante with a “challenge-inside-the-challenge” type of thing. And what can I say? Today was the day of personal bests! But I’m getting ahead of myself.
The DDPY workout + a walk + a personal biking record
Today, I added Energy to my plan again, simply because I also needed to squeeze in a walk to get groceries (5km brisk walking) as well as a planned 15-20km indoor bike session. Altogether I was shooting for a hefty calorie bonus today which would propel me forward in my goal of getting running shape by spring!
And hell yeah, the bonus rolled in! I managed to raise my personal best from 20km in an hour by 25%, earned me some 450 calories for the biking, some more for the walk and finally some 260ish for the DDPY Energy. Not too shabby I dare say.
I generally start to feel my stamina and performance improving and I guess doing 100 workouts for 100 straight days is just the beginning of a wonderful friendship 😁
Also a big shoutout to my challenge buddies Jordan, Shane & Jack – you guys rock!
The Cyberpunk 2077 Challenge-inside-the-Challenge
As soon as I saw the first trailer for CD Projekt Red’s upcoming monster game Cyberpunk 2077 (video linked below) I was hooked. And so it is clear that I preordered the thing which will release on the 10th of December this year. But there is another thing still ongoing, apart from my 100 day challenge with DDPY, and that is my virtual 2020 year challenge I started with TheConqueror:
I launched into this in the last quarter of the year and set for myself the goal to do 550 km of walking and indoor cycling. This challenge is not yet done and I still have some 120km to finish before the year is out to get my finisher medal. Sooo… I need to muscle up and do more work to get this in and therefore, I decided that Cyberpunk 2077 can only happen if I finish my year challenge before 10th of December, which basically gives me a window of 7 days for 120km of indoor biking and walking. On one hand, this feels a bit crazy to do back-to-back with the 100 day DDPY challenge but hey… nothing’s ever for free, right?
This way, I can slack off and get away with playing computer games over the holidays AND do something for my fitness 💪
Here’s the trailer I promised – indulge and think about what you can do to earn this game, too 🥳😁
